As a brand ambassador for the Balkan eCommerce Summit 2025, Mihai shares his passion for empowering regional businesses through smart strategy, consistent execution, and a strong culture of learning.
This will be your second year participating in the Balkan eCommerce Summit as a brand ambassador. What motivated you to embrace this role again, and what do you think makes the summit a standout opportunity for eCommerce businesses in the Balkans?
Returning as a brand ambassador for the Balkan eCommerce Summit was an easy decision after seeing the real benefits it brought last year. I value how the summit brings together marketing experts and businesses to share practical knowledge that works specifically for our region. The connections made at the event have led to measurable results for both our agency and the clients we serve.
What makes this summit special is its focus on addressing the unique challenges Balkan eCommerce businesses face. Rather than just discussing global trends, participants get actionable strategies tailored to our regional market conditions. The summit provides a rare opportunity for businesses to learn directly from industry leaders while building valuable partnerships that continue long after the event ends.
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in scaling DWF, and how did you overcome them?
Growing DWF into one of Romania’s largest SEO agencies with over 300 brands wasn’t without significant hurdles. Our biggest challenge was maintaining quality as we scaled, particularly ensuring consistent results across a diverse client portfolio. We solved this by developing standardized processes and tools that could be adapted to different industries while still delivering personalized strategies. We also invested heavily in building specialized teams rather than having generalists handle everything.
Finding and retaining qualified talent was another major obstacle. The Romanian digital marketing landscape has a competitive job market, with demand for skilled specialists often exceeding supply. We addressed this by creating a strong company culture, implementing a comprehensive training program, and establishing clear career paths within DWF.
This approach helped us build a stable team of experts who continue to drive results for our clients while mentoring new staff members.
You’ve worked with brands like Vodafone and Samsung and many more. What’s been the most innovative or unconventional strategy you’ve implemented for a client, and what results did it deliver?
When working with international brands or leaders in their category, we challenged the conventional approach of focusing solely on high-volume keywords. Instead, we developed a comprehensive strategy targeting the entire customer journey through specialized content hubs. We created in-depth product comparison resources and technical guides that addressed specific consumer pain points rather than just product features.
This approach required significant upfront investment but ultimately reduced our client’s dependency on price-driven competition. This strategy has since become our blueprint for clients across different industries, proving that addressing genuine consumer needs through quality content can outperform traditional SEO tactics focused purely on rankings and traffic.
What specific AI tools or technologies have proven to be game-changers for your SEO and PPC services?
At DWF, we’ve found several AI tools that truly enhance our SEO and PPC services. For content creation and optimization, we use advanced natural language processing platforms that help us analyze competitor content, identify gaps, and create more relevant material for our clients.
These tools have cut our research time in half while improving content quality. For PPC campaigns, predictive analytics tools have been invaluable in forecasting performance and automatically adjusting bidding strategies based on real-time data.
Perhaps the most impactful has been our implementation of machine learning algorithms for customer journey analysis. These tools help us identify patterns in user behavior that weren’t visible before, allowing us to optimize touchpoints across SEO and PPC channels. For a recent retail client, this approach led to a 30% increase in conversion rate by better aligning content with actual customer decision-making processes rather than assumed funnels. The key has been using AI as an enhancement to human expertise rather than a replacement.
What do you think are the top 3 trends in SEO for 2025, and how should businesses prepare to adapt? What are the most common mistakes businesses make with SEO?
The top three SEO trends we’re seeing for 2025 are:
- AI-enhanced search experiences that prioritize direct answers and user intent over traditional rankings. Context is more important than ever. In my perspective, context is the new King!
- The growing importance of visual search optimization as more consumers use image-based search tools. People will slowly but surely start using alternative methods of searching the web, in addition to the classical Google interface.
- The continued rise of voice search requires more natural language optimization. Businesses should prepare by focusing on creating comprehensive content that directly answers customer questions, optimizing visual assets with proper descriptions and structured data, and adapting keyword strategies to match conversational queries.
The most common SEO mistakes businesses make include neglecting technical SEO fundamentals like site speed and mobile optimization, creating content without a clear understanding of search intent, and failing to adapt to local search requirements. Many companies still chase high-volume keywords without considering conversion potential, while others implement changes without proper measurement frameworks. The biggest mistake remains treating SEO as a one-time project rather than an ongoing strategy that requires consistent attention and adaptation to changing algorithms and consumer behavior.
As a leader managing a team of over 100 specialists, what’s your approach to keeping your team motivated?
My approach to keeping our team of specialists motivated centers on transparency and meaningful work. At DWF, we make sure every team member understands how their specific contributions impact our clients’ success. We’ve implemented a system where specialists regularly see the results of their work through client metrics and feedback sessions. Beyond financial incentives, we invest in professional development and create clear paths for advancement that allow team members to grow in areas that genuinely interest them. Celebrating wins together and maintaining open communication during challenges has built a culture where people feel valued.
The one piece of advice I wish I’d received earlier in my leadership career is to prioritize hiring for attitude and adaptability over perfect technical skills. In the fast-changing digital marketing landscape, what matters most is having team members who embrace learning and can evolve with the industry. Technical skills can be taught, but curiosity and resilience are harder to develop. Building a team of adaptable professionals who support each other has been far more valuable than assembling a group of individual experts who work in isolation.
Mihai Vînătoru’s unique blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and disciplined leadership continues to shape the digital marketing landscape in Romania and beyond. His focus on long-term value and innovation offers a clear roadmap for brands looking to grow sustainably in a competitive ecommerce world.
